WHAT WE DID
GIZ ProLocal project supports 10 municipalities in 3 regions in the area of improved economic governance and competitiveness and capacity building of their LED offices to establish and successfully conduct public private dialogue. Region 1 municipalities: Gradiška, Kozarska Dubica, Laktaši and Srbac; Region 2: Teslić, Tešanj and Žepče; Region 3: Konjic, Prozor-Rama and Jablanica.
GIZ ProLocal wanted to support the joint efforts of the public, private and civil sector in improvement of competitiveness of a location. That involved a growing orientation of municipalities towards boosting the local economy and involvement of all relevant stakeholders in public-private dialogue, resulting in LED initiatives that improved competitiveness. The purpose of this effort is to strengthen the capacities of both sectors for the public-private dialogue.
Introduction (awareness raising) to public – private dialogue (PPD) in region 1
Analysis of current PPD practices in municipalities – PPD capacity assessments in regions 2 and 3
Preparatory activities for establishment of local PPD bodies (capacity building in LED, establishment and strengthening PPD secretariats within the LED offices, drafting of policies and procedures related to PPD) in regions 1 and 2 and support in drafting municipal PPD annual plans
Support in planning , preparations and realization of PPD bodies' meetings (incl. moderation of the Economic Council meetings)
Technical assistance to implementation of selected recommendations from PPD assessments
Technical assistance to selected LED initiatives for improving competitiveness deriving from the local PPD processes
Support in realization and analysis of private sector surveys done by local LED offices and LDAs Data management consulting (incl. technical assistance in improving analytical skills) related to PPD preparations
Preparation of investment offers (in LEDIS) and general efficient usage of LEDIS software (region 2)
Improvement of LED office’s services for the private sector (region 2)
