Improving Local and Regional Economy - Second Round of Municipal Capacity Index Assessment (MCI) in 16 municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina


WHAT WE DID

In 2009-2011,2013, 2015,  DCG conducted a baseline assessment of the municipal local economic development status in 26 municipalities in the BiH Federation and Republika Srpska. The assessment study provided information on the overall situation in the municipalities in terms of relevant socio-economic trends for the LED. The purpose of the assessment was to provide the necessary baseline data, to be used as guidance in the GIZ-LRWF Project (Improving Local and Regional Economy) and the municipalities.

ACTIVITIES

Desk research of the municipal LED status in 16 municipalities: Banja Luka, Prijedor, Gradiška, Srbac, Laktaši, Kotor Varoš, Kozarska Dubica, Modriča, Mrkonjić Grad, Petrovo, Gračanica, Tešanj, Žepče, Zenica, Travnik, Visoko

A review of 2010 baseline assessment results and a projection of expected results in round two of MCI Assessment (in 2013)

Revision and adjustments of the MCI tool, in accordance with the GIZ-LRWF project objectives and indicators;

Conducted MCI Assessment in 16 municipalities

Prepared assessment reports in local language for each municipality separately

Prepare a compiled report on MCI assessment, including the benchmarking results and comparisons with the baseline status

Identified lessons learns and best practicesand provide recommendations for improvements

Presented results to GIZ LRWF
